Scott Tuft (scott@systemicpictures.com)Scott Tuft Scott received an MFA in directing from the American Film Institute and a BA from Wesleyan University. He has also studied filmmaking at FAMU in Prague and New York University. He has worked on numerous types of films in all capacities. From assisting the AD department on large scale Hollywood films to gripping on a Corman B-film to writing feature length screenplays to directing award winning short films, Scott has been involved in most aspects of most types of productions. His screenplays are represented by the Lynn Pleshette Agency. His last short film The Passage of Mrs. Calabash played in numerous festivals on threecontinents and won several awards including the ”Best of Fest” award from the Paste Rock N’ Reel Festival and the “Special Jury Prize” at the independent Film Festival of Boston and the Stargazer Award at the GenArt film Festival. Within the Grid will be his first directed documentary. He currently spends his time in Los Angeles, New York and anywhere else where there might be a story.

Par Parekh (par@systemicpictures.com)Par Parekh Based in Brooklyn, though propelled by curiosity to the far reaches of the globe, Par studied film, philosophy and biology at Wesleyan University. After working in the Laboratory of Neurobiology and Behavior at The Rockefeller University, he returned to filmmaking, devoting his time to several documentaries on topics ranging from an archaeological dig in Iceland to the reconstruction effort in war-ravaged Liberia. He has served as director, cinematographer, editor, producer and researcher on numerous short films and documentaries. His last short fiction film, the award-winning The Aspidistra's Tale explored the relationship between science, art and human emotions. He recently returned from a 10-month adventure in New Orleans and spends his days thinking about electricity.

Andreas Burgess (andreas@systemicpictures.com)Andreas Burgess Andreas has been an LA-based director of photography ever since graduating from Wesleyan University's Film Program. In addition to numerous music videos (CLAP YOUR HANDS SAY YEAH, DECIBULLY, THE FLESH) and short films, his feature credits include the 2006 Independent Spirit Award-Winning Conventioneers, directed by Mora Stephens and most recently, Strictly Sexual, directed by frequent collaborator Joel Viertel. In the documentary arena, he is continuing work on several projects, ranging from bicycle-powered ferris wheels to a one-man marathon performance of Milton's Paradise Lost - from memory. He is a lifelong fan of the Milwaukee Brewers and can almost always be seen in their hat.

Anne Carkeet (anne@systemicpictures.com)Anne Carkeet Anne is a New York City producer whose work has taken her all over the country. After studying Film and English at Wesleyan University, she spent 4 years at Sundance Channel creating a wide range of original programming, as well as covering the Sundance Film Festival. Upon leaving Sundance Channel, she became a freelance producer, working on series for a variety of channels including PBS, The Learning Channel, VH1 and Style Network. Her work on the PBS Series Design: E2 sparked her interest in energy, society, and the environment—all the more reason she’s excited to be a part of Within the Grid.

Pauline Mason (pauline@systemicpictures.com)Pauline Mason Pauline has worked in television for over ten years, working in children’s television, on reality shows, talk shows and magazine style shows. Most recently she was Supervising Producer for two of the highest rated shows on Oxygen, the women’s network – “Preston Bailey, Mr. Fabulous”, a reality show about Preston Bailey, Event Planner and “Real Weddings from the Knot”, a long running series about brides as they prepare for their wedding. Pauline also worked as Coordinating Producer for Nickelodeon’s “Gullah Gullah Island”, an Emmy Award nominated scripted children’s show and on HBO’s Emmy Award winning “The Chris Rock Show.” Currently she is Line Producing a documentary based on an Amy Tan novel as well as producing various video projects for the start up broadband network, Next New Networks.
